Management Trainee Programme - Nationwide
The Garden Centre Group has created a new and exciting Management Trainee Programme to enhance career progression within garden centre management.
This innovative programme is open to enthusiastic people who are passionate about plants and gardening and who would welcome the opportunity to build a career in garden centre management with us.
The highly structured programme developsĀ trainee horticultural knowledge and skills and focuses on the following areas:
- Plant area
- Shop floor
- Customer service
- Cash administration
- Stock administration
- People and team management
Practical experience will be gained in the following areas:
- Secondment to various garden centres within the group
- Secondment to various nurseries within the group
- Project work
- Management skills training
- Slough support centre
- Specialised training
The Garden Centre Group also offer a bespoke suite of interactive e-learning which will provide you with the knowledge and skills to fully integrate your practical learning with best practice horticultural care and exceptional retail standards.
Regular monthly meetings take place with the trainee’s Garden Centre Manager for help, advice and general supervision, whilst progress is reviewed every two months by a member of senior management.
On successful completion of the programme, Management Trainees can apply for a Horticultural / Shop Manager position at one of our garden centres. Progress and development will continue to be monitored and mentored until trainees reach the position of Garden Centre Manager.
