On-going bring-and-buy second-hand book sale in aid of Greenfingers

  • Anyone who visits us will be able to recycle their unwanted books while helping raise money for charity at the same time.
  • We are hosting an on-going bring-and-buy second-hand book sale in aid of Greenfingers, which is dedicated to creating magical gardens at children’s hospices across the UK.
  • We’re hoping to raise money for the charity by inviting people to bring in books to donate for the sale. The paperbacks and hardbacks will cost a minimum of 50 pence each and all money raised from the bring-and-buy sale will be given to the charity.

Chance to feed our ducks

Daily at 3.30pm

  • We have recently introduced a family of 14 ducks to our pond area.
  • Children are welcome to come and help with feeding the ducks free of charge. The viewing area and feeding area is on our restaurant patio.
  • The family includes eight males or drakes and six females and next spring we may even be blessed with the patter of tiny little webbed feet if they decide to hatch ducklings.

People invited to ‘Knit and Natter’

Every Thursday from 10.30am

  • A group of ladies meet in the garden centre’s restaurant every Thursday morning to knit and drink coffee. They would like anyone who wants to learn how to knit or any other knitters who want a bit of company to join them.
  • Everyone is welcome, whether you are a complete novice or a knitting enthusiast. It is a sociable event and it’s a great way for knitters to meet up and share tips and experiences. There is no charge to attend the meetings and people will be able to purchase refreshments from the restaurant.
