The centre came into being in the 1980s when local businessman Tony Millar transformed 25 acres of boggy marsh land into a garden centre trading as Finebush Nurseries. The nursery part of the business became a craft village and Butterfly World, whilst the centre was taken over and underwent a series of makeovers, involving, at one stage, a Mediterranean colour scheme that included turquoise paths and orange pillars!

We sell top quality growing stock, gardening products and garden furniture as well as birdcare products, floristry, houseplants and books. We also have a fabulous giftware and greeting card department and at Christmas, an inspiring display of decorations, lights and trees. Our restaurant sells delicious home-made snacks and lunches whilst our staff are friendly and helpful horticultural experts who pride themselves on giving good practical advice to expert and amateur gardeners alike.
