Phil Tyzack
Garden Centre Manager
'Much more than a garden centre', Sanders Garden World is one of the largest garden centres in the South West. Built in 2001 with the specific aim of 'being the best', it has been voted Garden Centre of the Year twice since 2004... so obviously the mission is succeeding! Even its environment credentials have been recognised with national awards - the plantarea is built over an enormous rainwater reservoir - and children love it for the wonderful play area.
Our core business is horticulture and focuses on top quality growing stock, gardening products and garden furniture. However, we sell a huge variety of other products including pet and wild bird care, floristry, houseplants, books, food, clothing, footwear, garden buildings and even log cabins. We also have an excellent giftware and greeting card department and at Christmas, a truly stunning display of decorations, lights and trees. Our Lemon Grove restaurant sells delicious home-made snacks and lunches whilst our staff are friendly and helpful horticultural experts who pride themselves on giving good practical advice to expert and amateur gardeners alike.
We all look forward to welcoming you to the centre soon.

Coach Trip - The Laskett Gardens and Weston Hall, Much Birch, Herefordshire
Thursday 13th June
The Laskett Gardens, Much Birch, Herefordshire
The Laskett Gardens at Much Birch were created over four decades by Sir Roy Strong and his late wife, the designer Dr Julia Trevelyan Oman. A work of passion, these exquisite gardens are divided into a series of ‘rooms’ and include a lime avenue, orchard, kitchen, knot garden and an area created to celebrate the Queen’s Silver Jubilee. The gardens are the largest private formal gardens created since 1945.

Coach Trip - Lost Gardens of Heligan, St Austell

These splendid gardens hark back to 1603 when William Tremayne built his family seat here. After World War I the gardens fell into disrepair and remained untouched and hidden by mountains of laurel, ivy and brambles until 1990, when one of the largest garden restoration schemes in Europe was launched. Fascinating historically and visually breathtaking in their sheer scale, diversity and glory, the Lost Gardens of Heligan are sensational.
