Clematis montana ‘Miss Christine’ is one of the prettiest varieties of this popular, vigorous species, with masses of scented white flowers with a pink reverse to the petals, in May-June. Height and spread up to 10m by 3m. Ideal for covering walls, fences and outbuildings, or growing up into trees.
Plant in moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil, in sun or light shade, with the roots in the shade. Needs wire or trellis support. Pruning only necessary to restrict size, after flowering. Mulch around the roots in spring with well-rotted manure or compost.
