Acer pensylvanicum'Erythrocladum' (coral stripe maple) is a lovely variety aptly named for its attractively patterned bark.
Young stems are bright pinky red whilst more mature wood is coral striped white. Foliage is a good yellow in autumn.
Large hardy deciduous shrub or small tree. Plant in moist but well-drained fertile, lime-free soil in sun or light shade. Prune hard in March to encourage new shoots.
