Armeria maritima 'Splendens' is a variety of our native Sea thrift, with bright deep pink flowers on short stems from May to July, over a neat cushion of evergreen foliage. Attractive to bees and butterflies. Good as cut flowers. Height and spread 15-30cm by 20-30cm. Ideal for the rock gardens, path edges, gravel gardens or alpine troughs. Thrives in any well-drained soil, including poor, dry soils, in full sun. Excellent for exposed seaside gardens, being tolerant of salt spray. Drought tolerant once established.
