DID YOU KNOW?

The centre started life in the 1930s as a public outdoor swimming pool, one of 169 opened across the country by local councils in the golden age of lidos, when swimming was popular and foreign holidays beyond most people's budgets. The gravelled plant area now lies on the site of the pool where many a local resident splashed happily until it closed in the 1980s!

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

We sell top quality growing stock, gardening products and garden furniture as well as birdcare products, floristry, houseplants and books. We also have a fabulous giftware and greeting card department and at Christmas, an inspiring display of decorations, lights and trees. Our restaurant sells delicious home-made snacks and lunches whilst our staff are friendly and helpful horticultural experts who pride themselves on giving good practical advice to expert and amateur gardeners alike.
