Nandina domestica
Nandina domestica (Heavenly bamboo) is a very versatile plant, with bright pinky red leaves in spring.
It will keep its leaves in all but the harshest of winters and during the summer will produce creamy white flowers which can be followed by red berries in the autumn in warm areas which are attractive to birds.
It is best grown in a sunny position where the best of the red leaves can be produced. It prefers a slightly acidic site that does not become waterlogged, especially over winter.
